The 320GB Hard drive and smaller drive, the 250GB Hard Drive, are both
accessories for the Digital Video Recorders found here on
www.spyzone.com .
Model 320 GB
The 320 GB Hard drive is the maximum amount of space in a single
drive that can be used for storing video surveillance. Because some of our
Digital Video Recorders can accomodate multiple drives, anyone looking to store
the most amount of video storage would choose 320 GV Hard drives.
To determine how much surveillance recording can be placed on
the 320GB Hard drive, you must consider how many cameras you are recording. If
you have 4 cameras or 16 cameras connected to your DVR, and set the DVR to
record only 1 or 2 cameras, you can expect a long volume of recording time to be
stored. However, for each each additional camera your DVR is commanded to
record, your recording space will decrease over operating time.
Q: How long will this hard drive last for?
A: The "useful life" of the hard drive operating in a Spyzone DVR 24 /
7 without a failing event or problem is greater than 1 million hours (114
years). Of course, this is an average based on a formula used to test these.
However, the point of this answer is to outline the long life of the hard drive.
Q: How can our hard drives that we use last so long?
A: Our hard drives are built specifically for use in our surveillance
DVRs, with cool operating temperatures and less tendency to burn out. Our hard
drives are not designed for use in computers, but surveillance digital video
recorders.
